Godley High School senior Colin Price placed second at the UIL state golf tournament on May 22-23, 2023, at Legends Golf Course in Kingsland.

In his third straight Class 4A tourney, Price scored 140 (73-67) over the two-day contest, just four strokes behind the state champion, Jaxon Donaldson (136) from Wimberley. The GHS senior was in eighth place after the first day of competition but climbed on the second day to claim the runner-up prize.

The district and regional champion, Price was making his third consecutive appearance at the UIL state tournament.  As a GHS junior last spring, he finished fifth in the state tourney.  Price placed 11th at the state contest when he was a sophomore in 2021.

Earlier this month, Price announced plans to continue playing golf at Texas Wesleyan University next year.
