TWO GODLEY FFA TEAMS ADVANCE TO STATE LEADERSHIP CONTEST

Two Goldey FFA teams qualified for state during the Area VIII Leadership Development Events competition on November 19, 2022, at Waxahachie High School.

Advancing to the state level are students competing in agricultural advocacy and public relations.  The chapter also placed third for sweepstakes honors.

Godley results were:

  • Agricultural Advocacy:  team, 1st and state qualifier (Owen Dickson, Taryn Franks, Kaidynce Haws, Peyton Haws)

  • FFA Broadcasting:  team, 3rd (Symphany Grier, Cate Heiner, Brittany Roark)

  • Junior FFA Quiz:  team, 3rd (Ava Jackson, 5th; Aliyah Conn, 7th; Klara Pinkerton, 12th; Tucker Clark, 14th)

  • Public Relations:  team, 1st and state qualifier (Cate Heiner, Brittany Roark, Kerri Roy, Caitlyn White)

  • Senior Agricultural Skill Demonstration:  team, 5th (Delaney Coym, Veronica Duran, Lila Heiner, Abbey Mathis)

LDEs focus on creating situations for members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication and their knowledge of agriculture and the FFA organization. Team and individual events are used to reinforce what is taught in agricultural science classrooms.

Students advanced from the Chisholm Trail District competition on Nov. 9 in Cleburne.  The state competition is on Saturday, Dec. 2 at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.
