Godley High School freshman class officers donated $800 to the Chisholm Trail 100 Club, a local organization that supports first responders. The donation was made on May 22, 2023.

Funds came from the sale of “Back the Blue” t-shirts designed and sold by the freshman class.

The club was founded in 2009 when citizens of Johnson County joined together to create a non-profit organization to support emergency personnel in the area. The club recognizes the need to respond immediately with personal support and understanding when a first responder is injured or killed in the line of duty. 

The club’s service area includes Johnson, Hood and Somervell Counties as well as the City of Mansfield.  Covered personnel include law enforcement, fire department, emergency medical staff and dispatchers.

Among those accepting the donation were Bob Alford, former long-time sheriff, and Cara Ellison, the club’s executive director.
