a. Kayla - requesting that parents be kept informed and educated in regards to the CLD and SEL curriculum and be given the information as requested.

2. Review Godley ISD Wellness Plan

A. No changes were made to the plan

3. Lauren Herrington- TDHS makes a presentation

    1. Program supervisor at TSDH- youth behavior initiative
    2. New hotline number that is easier to remember 988 (previous number 800-273-TALK still available as well)
      1. Support 24/7, 365 days a year
    3. Flyers up in the schools. Lauren to email Brian pdf

4. Leslie Wilson- Health Services Coordinator makes a presentation

    1. Discussed duties of health services Coordinator
    2. Identified names of the school nurses at each campus and discussed the duties that they have and how much the increase of students is causing our acuity of the health conditions to increase and the numbers of students having medical needs is increasing substantially
    3. Future goal is to have a float nurse to be able to assist in screenings, Telehealth visits, sub if we need help, vaccine compliance, etc.
    4. Discussed Cook Children’s Telehealth services.

 5. Christina Howard- Assistant Food Director

    1. Fed 3500 students this year. Smart Snacks are offered that match all nutritional guidelines and requirements.
    2. May 30th - June 8th- free lunches provided to kids 18 and younger. If older kids are in school with the district, they are able to get food as well. Will be held at Legacy and there is no grab and go option this year.
      1. FBC Godley to help with kids not being able to make it to the school? They have backpacks for food. Brian to call FBC.
    3. Audit next year to ensure that kids are getting all food groups, etc.

6. Rhonda Evans- Character & Leadership Development Coordinator presentation

    1. Discussed duties of 6 school counselors and 2 social workers that work at the district.

a. Counselors work under 2 models- ASCA- national model and Texas- state specific model

b. 10 dominions in which they work, program management, guidance, concentration, coordination, assessment, leadership, advocacy, professional behavior, professional standards, additional services and support

B. Used some Title money for Hope Squad. Identify students that are in need

a. Training happening for Middle School and High School counselors

b. Students (selected by their peers) are in training as well.

c. Teacher advisors - volunteers- training

7. Create a list of questions to ask potential Health Curriculum text companies (TEA has not released new information as of yet. Still in a holding pattern)

  1. What consists of the curriculum sample?
  2. What is available- eBooks? Hard copies?
  3. Resources for text available for download and print - teachers have access?
  4. State specific - alignment to Texas TEKS
  5. Available in multiple languages?
  6. Cost associated with requirements for adoption- 1 year vs multiple year
  7. Requirements for tech support- fit with what the district currently has?
  8. Sex Ed- teaches abstinence
  9. CLD and SEL uses the words “equality” vs “equity”
  10. No transgender education or gender confusion
  11. What pronouns are used?
  12. Information is evidenced based or evidenced informed.
