Godley High School Winterguard opened its 2026 competition season with a first-place finish February 6, 2026, at Timber Creek High School in Keller.

Members of the Pride of Godley Band delivered a strong performance at the contest sponsored by the North Texas Colorguard Association. Additional competitions are scheduled for Feb. 13 at Saginaw Chisholm Trail High School and Feb. 20 at Prosper High School, leading up to the championships March 21 at Flower Mound Marcus High School.

Guard members are Mya Arevalo, Jerry Boyd, Hunter Bridges, Violet Clay, Emerson Coleman, Nevaeh Guinn, Mercedes Muesse, Nova Reyna, Leila Tran, Ava Wells and Emma Wilkin. The director is Caleb Hunter.

Meanwhile, the indoor percussion ensemble earned a bronze medal at the NTCA contest Feb. 7 at Rowlett High School. The group will compete later this month at the WGI Houston contest at Magnolia West High School.

Ensemble members are Fin Adedoja, Caleb Applegate, Victor Arvizu, Bella Atwood, Paiton Bailey, Rylie Bax, Valerie Botello, Dylan Brown, Miley Cassio, Evan Culbertson, Hayden Flood, Raul Garcia, John Gillard, Tucker Holzheuser, Korbin Howard, Nick Jackson, Brystal James, Nightly James, Makayla Jetton, Glenn Leevy, Brooke Lynch, Hudson Marks, Ailea Martinez, Dax McCarty, Jordan Minter, Isabelle Ortega, Caylee Price, Jay Sillivan, McKinley Simmons, Hayden Smith, Mac Stokey, Dex Swiger, Leila Tran and Mason Vallejo. The ensemble is directed by David Kennedy.

Winterguard and indoor percussion are performance ensembles that combine music, coordinated movement and theatrical elements, with winterguard using flags, rifles and sabers for visual storytelling and indoor percussion showcasing marching percussion instruments through complex rhythms and choreography.
