Godley Wildcats finished the regular season advancing to the Class 4A Division II football postseason with a 23-0 victory over the Hillsboro Eagles on November 7, 2024.
The win extended the team’s winning streak to three, finishing with a 3-2 district record. The Wildcats opened district play with a home loss to Glen Rose 45-35 on Oct. 11 followed by a tough loss to Fort Worth Benbrook 28-24 following a strong comeback on Oct. 18. Godley swept the rest with victories over Fort Worth Dunbar 33-28 on Oct. 25, Venus 65-0 on Nov. 1, and Hillsboro.
As the third-ranked team in District 4, Godley will face Brock, the second-place team from District 3. The Wildcats and Eagles will face off in the bi-district playoffs on Friday, Nov. 15 at Burleson ISD Stadium.
