Twenty-two Godley High School football players received District 4-4A honors following the 2023 season.

Wildcats earning superlative honors were:

  • Offensive Lineman of the Year:  Kade Sundheim, left guard

  • Offensive Newcomer of the Year:  Adam Pempsell, running back

  • Defensive Newcomer of the Year:  Alberto Diaz, linebacker

  • Special Teams Player of the Year:  Saul Valle, kicker

Others named to the district squad were:

  • 1st Team:  Alex Duran, defensive lineman; Ryan Gambino, left tackle; Daniel Glidewell, defensive lineman; Trey Hindash, offensive lineman; Shawn Kazouh, defensive back; Jake Pempsell, linebacker; Hagan Robertson, safety; Brennan Wilson, offensive lineman 

  • 2nd Team:  Tanner Bruton, utility player; Crosby Carmichael, receiver; Preston Maxwell, defensive back; Ty Mathis, fullback; Creed Miller, defensive back; Landon Thigpen, receiver; Gavin Vasquez, linebacker

  • Honorable Mention:  Blane Applegate, receiver; Wyatt Burke, quarterback; Bradey Thomas, defensive back

The runners-up in District 4-4A, Godley battled the Sweetwater Mustangs in the Division II bi-district playoffs, falling 35-34.
