The Godley High School Wildcat Purple golf team captured the championship at Brock High School’s Battle at the Brazos tournament on March 5, 2026, setting a new school record with a team score of 300.

Wildcat team members included Kyle Black, Jaxon Hill, Tripp Karnes, Austin Merritt and Dylan Mourning.

Senior Tripp Karnes turned in one of the top individual performances of the tournament, shooting a 72 to finish second overall, just one stroke behind the tournament champion.

The tournament victory continues a strong stretch for the Wildcats on the course. Earlier in the week, Godley’s boys team also captured the North Side Invitational title at Meadowbrook Golf Course in Fort Worth.
