Godley High School seniors Tanner Bruton and Shawn Kazouh announced plans to continue playing football in college at Hardin-Simmons University during a signing ceremony on February 5, 2025.

The pair will be playing in Abilene for the Cowboys, who compete in the American Southwest Conference in NCAA Division III.

Both helped the Wildcats reach the Class 4A Division II postseason in 2024, with Bruton named first-team all-district and Kazouh on the second team.  The two Wildcats also were chosen to the All-Johnson County second team.  As juniors in 2023, Kazouh was a first-team pick while Bruton was part of the second team.
