Godley Ladycats Sophia Hodges and Griffin Gill were selected to the 2026 UIL Soccer State All-Tournament Team by the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches.

Hodges, a senior defender, and Gill, a sophomore defender, earned Class 4A Division II all-tournament honors following standout performances during Godley’s run to the UIL state semifinals.

The two defenders helped anchor a Ladycat team that enjoyed one of the best seasons in school history. Godley advanced through the playoffs with victories over Academy, Lake Worth, Graham and Greenwood before falling in a tightly contested 2-1 state semifinal to Sunnyvale.

Throughout the postseason, the Ladycats relied on a disciplined and determined defensive unit that helped limit scoring chances, control matches in key moments and fuel the program’s deepest playoff run to date. Hodges and Gill played major roles in that success and were recognized among the top performers at the state tournament.

Their selection adds to a season filled with milestones for the Ladycat soccer program, including a regional championship, state semifinal appearance and multiple postseason honors.
