Godley ISD school board trustees reaffirmed support for military-connected students and families during the regular monthly meeting on April 21, 2025, at Godley High School.
As part of Month of the Military Child, board members adopted a resolution “encourag[ing] all school staff and community members to initiate, support, and participate in appreciation activities designed to recognize the exceptional role and unique sacrifices our military-connected families make in our nation's best interest.”
Recognizing the unique challenges of military families, the resolution calls for the continued opportunities for military families and community members to partner with schools in supporting student learning and progress, student readiness, engaged and well-rounded students, and safety and well-being.
As of the board meeting, 273 military-connected students are currently enrolled in Godley ISD schools. This amounts to almost 105 of district enrollment. These students are dependents of active duty members of the United States armed forces, including state national guard, reserve components and veterans. Others qualify if they are a child of a military service member injured or killed in the line of duty.
Godley students and staff showed their support for military-connected students and families during Purple Up Day on Apr. 23.
