The Godley ISD Board of Trustees recognized several Godley High School students during its April 20, 2026, meeting, celebrating outstanding accomplishments in career and technical education and athletics.

Students honored during the meeting represented state-level qualifiers in multiple career and technical student organizations, while athletic teams either competed at the state level or made school history through postseason success.

“These students represent the very best of Godley ISD,” Superintendent Dr. Rich Dear said. “Whether competing in the classroom, on the field, on the platform or through career-focused organizations, they have demonstrated excellence, determination and pride in representing our district. We are proud of their accomplishments and the staff members who guide and support them.”

Students recognized for career and technical education achievements included HOSA-Future Health Professionals contestants Reagan Wood, Sydnee Applegate and Caylee Price, who were introduced by sponsors Cheryl Mitchell, Randy Chapman and Amanda Musselman. Reagan Wood placed third in Respiratory Therapy at the state conference to earn Godley’s first-ever HOSA international qualifier and will compete at the HOSA International Leadership Conference in Indianapolis.

Texas Association of Future Educators state contestants Janice Aguilar, Yulissa Arteaga, Caleb Auzenne, Addison Coats, Zaylee Deponte, Jordan Minter and Samantha Moore were introduced by sponsor Dana Burke. National qualifiers included Yulissa Arteaga and Jordan Minter, Addison Coats and Zaylee Deponte in Teacher Created Materials, along with Caleb Auzenne in Exploring Non-Core Education Careers. Janice Aguilar earned a silver medal in Exploring Administrative Careers.

Technology Student Association state contestants Naimah Ahumerda, Julyssa Aguilera, Ashley Ballweg, Bailen Carroll, Emerson Coleman, Evan Culbertson, Danna Castillo, Reagan DeLeon, Brett Fancher, Hayden Flood,  AJ Garcia-Robles, Camila Jasso, Ava Jackson, Glen Leevy, Trynity Lively, Hayzel Little, Angel Montalvo, Aiden Peace, Katie Ponce, Danica Renken, Lesley Rodriguez, Luis Rocha, Yareli Romero, Mia Simmons, Michael Swanson and Jesley Wilson were introduced by sponsor Lindsay Simmons. AJ Garcia-Robles won a state championship in yearbook layout, and Camila Jasso captured a state title in photojournalism.

Godley High School powerlifting state qualifiers Maloney Hambrice and Ty Mathis were introduced by head coach Paul Munshower after advancing to the state meet.

The Ladycat soccer team was honored following a historic season that ended in the UIL Class 4A Division II state semifinals. Players recognized were Nola Briscoe, Kaylie Fabela, Stephanie Favela, Jordyn Geesaman, Griffin Gill, Rylie Graves, Sophia Hodges, Jordyn Hutt, Makenna Jaskolowski, Eden Kelly, Arynn Long, Julyssa Ortiz, Rylee Swanson and Lexi Tyler. The team was introduced by head coach Kasie Welborn.

Godley advanced through the playoffs with wins over Academy, Lake Worth, Graham and Greenwood before falling 2-1 to Sunnyvale in the state semifinals.

The Wildcat soccer team was also recognized after earning the first postseason berth in program history. Players recognized were Alberto Diaz, Anthony Garcia, Jose Jimenez, Noah Lopez, Kevin Maldonado, Leo Mendoza, Gerson Moreno, Nash Pannell, Adam Pempsell, Michael Swanson and Kaylon Williams. The team was introduced by head coach Ever Cisneros.

The recognitions reflect Godley ISD’s commitment to student readiness, engaged and well-rounded students, and celebrating achievement across academics, extracurricular activities and competitive programs.
