Godley Wildcat running back Landon Thigpen leads a fifteen-player contingent earning all-district football honors following the 2022 season.

The Godley High School football players received District 4-4A honors following the season, which saw Wildcats advance to the regional playoffs in Class 4A Division II.

Thigpen, a junior, was named Offensive Player of the Year.

Others named to the district squad were:

• 1st Team:  Kole Allen, quarterback; Drew Coleman, wide receiver; Ryan Gambino, offensive lineman; Ethan Hall, offensive lineman; Erik Marski, offensive lineman; Christopher Sinku, tight end; Kade Sundheim, offensive lineman

• 2nd Team:  Trey Hindash, defensive end; Cameron Leverett, defensive back; Elijah Matthews, defensive end; Lucas Ponce, linebacker; Hagan Robertson, linebacker; Brennan Wilson, offensive lineman

• Honorable Mention:  Preston Maxwell, defensive back

Godley advanced to the regional playoffs, where the Wildcats fell 62-55 to Monahans.  The GHS team advanced from the area round after a 41-40 win over Seminole following a 27-6 bi-district victory over Midland Greenwood.
