Godley High School senior Kade Sundheim is advancing to state powerlifting competition after placing second at the regional meet on March 9, 2024, at Gatesville High School.

Sundheim was the runner-up in the Region 2 Division 2 contest, posting personal bests totaling 1475 lbs. with 540 lbs. squat, 405 lbs. bench press and 530 lbs. Deadlift.

The GHS senior was one of four advancing to regionals along with Alberto Diaz, Ryan Gambino and Christian Pallares.  Ladycat Mackenzie Stokey competed separately on March 1 at Dublin High School.

The boys’ state meet is set for Fri., March 22 at the Taylor County Coliseum in Abilene.

Powerlifting is sponsored by the Texas High School Powerlifting Association and Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association.
