Godley High School senior Kinlee Smith will continue her basketball career at Howard Payne University after signing her national letter of intent during a ceremony at Godley High School on January 23, 2026.

The Yellow Jackets compete in NCAA Division III athletics as a member of the American Southwest Conference.

A four-year varsity standout for the Ladycats, Smith earned all-state honors last season as a junior and was selected to compete in the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) All-Star Game last summer. She has been named to the district first team for three consecutive years and earned All-Johnson County first-team honors last season.

Earlier this season, Smith surpassed the 1,000-point milestone in her varsity career during a tournament at Lipan High School.

Smith was joined at the signing ceremony by her parents, Bobby and Lori Smith, along with family members, friends, Ladycat coaches Mark Chauveaus, Kristi Mayes and Rus Mayes, and her Godley High School teammates.
