Godley Independent School District - Empowering Students

Logo Title

Students in Godley ISD schools marked Constitution Day and Celebrate Freedom Week to honor the nation’s governing document during activities on September 17, 2024.

Godley students are having special classroom lessons and activities to learn about government principles, the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence, as well as other important parts of American democracy.

At Godley 6th Grade Campus, social studies students engaged in a digital escape room to learn about the constitution and the founding fathers. Students also signed a replica of the U.S. Constitution.

The purpose of Celebrate Freedom Week is to educate students about the sacrifices made for freedom in the founding of this country and the values on which this country was founded. The annual observance honors the work of the delegates to the Constitutional Convention during the summer of 1787 in Philadelphia.
