Several Godley ISD students are being honored for entries in soil and water conservation contests with awards to be presented at a banquet on May 1, 2025, at the Cleburne Conference Center.
Godley 6th Grade Campus student Evelynn Jackson is the district champion poster winner, while classmates Jude Mourning and Kooper Polson placed second and third among students in grades 3-6.
Zach White and Hayden Flood from Godley Middle School won first and second place respectively in the seventh and eighth grade essay contest.
From Godley High School, sophomore Klara Pinkerton placed first in the 9-10 division respectively. She was second last year as a freshman.
In addition, GMS science teacher Angie Pinkerton was named 2025 Conservation Teacher for her commitment to agriculture, conservation and education.
Soil and Water Conservation District 541 is holding the 54th Annual Awards Banquet to honor Johnson County students for essays and artwork. The district and its state board and association sponsor the competition annually to provide competition and incentives to expand and improve conservation efforts, resource development, and increase the wise utilization of our renewable natural resources.
