Seventh grade cross country teams from Godley Middle School dominated invitational meets during the week of September 19, 2022.

The GMS boys were victorious at the Cleburne Middle School Invitational on September 20 with Jonah Woods, Landon Bell, Eric Miramontes, and Jaxon Hill all posting top-ten finishes among seventh-grade boys.  Cy Tennery, Brayden Brantley, and Giovani Molina led the eighth graders to a second-place finish.

Results at the Smith Middle School meet were:

  • 8th Boys (2nd):  Cy Tennery, 1st; Brayden Brantley, 7th; Giovani Molina, 10th; Joel Terrones; Colton White; Braxton Spohn; Mark Elizaldi; Brett Fancher; Logan Babbit; Jett Price; Colin Curlee

  • 7th Boys (1st):  Jonah Woods, 2nd; Landon Bell, 3rd; Eric Miramontes, 6th; Jaxon Hill, 9th; Frankie Garcia; Grayson Crane; Brock Daberry; Avery Arriga; Carson Showalter; Ryker Dishman; Jace Gazdagh; Coby Ball; Jayden Montibrand; Bear Riley; Graham McMulen

GMS girls won the 3rd Annual Life Waxahachie Mustang Stampede on September 22, beating out ten other schools.  Kennedy Black, Grace McMullen, and Ryleigh Hillis all placed in the top ten to help the seventh-grade squad win.  Among eighth graders, Cam Bellamy and Kenzie Riney were among top ten runners.

  • 7th Girls (1st):  Kennedy Black, 7th; Grace McMullen, 8th; Ryleigh Hills, 9th; Dillon Ackridge; Madison Lionhardt; Layla Balderas; Bethany Alvarado; Riley Darcangelo
