Godley ISD is recognizing its school counselors during National School Counseling Week, celebrated Feb. 2–6, 2026, to highlight their vital role in supporting student success.
This year’s theme, “School Counselors Amplify Student Success,” highlights how school counselors support academic achievement, career exploration and college readiness while helping students navigate challenges that impact learning.
National School Counseling Week is sponsored by the American School Counselor Association and is supported in Texas by the Texas School Counselor Association and the Texas Counseling Association. The week is observed annually during the first full week of February to focus public attention on the unique contributions school counselors make to students, schools and communities.
“School counselors work with all students to remove barriers to learning by addressing academic concerns, career awareness, postsecondary options and other essential skills,” said ASCA Executive Director Jill Cook. “School counseling programs help increase student achievement and provide a much-needed resource for students, parents, teachers and administrators. School counselors are integral to student success.”
Godley ISD school counselors include:
- Godley High School: Bailey Copeland, Victoria Dudgeon
- Godley Middle School: Mackenzie Welch
- Godley 6th Grade Campus and LINKS Academy: Wendy Fisk
- Legacy Elementary School: Stephanie Moss
- Pleasant View Elementary School: Mistie Havlak
- R.B. Godley Elementary School: Schalynne Kelley
Across the district, counselors support student achievement through classroom guidance lessons, character development and bullying prevention. They also coordinate intervention programs, testing services and student supports, and help connect students and families with academic and postsecondary resources.
