Godley ISD school board trustees extended the contract of Superintendent Dr. Rich Dear during a special meeting on December 11, 2023, at Godley High School.

The board gathered to conduct an evaluation of the superintendent and then extended Dear’s contract with a new five-year term ending in June 2029.

“As our superintendent, Dr. Dear has led Godley ISD for 12 years.  His leadership has been invaluable in addressing the fast growth in student enrollment and other areas that the district faces,” commented Board President Matt McKittrick.  “The board discussed at length the challenges ahead, and Dr. Dear is exceptionally capable of carrying out the vision for the school district.”

School trustees will next meet for a regular monthly meeting on Monday, Dec. 18.
