Godley ISD school board trustees extended the contract of Superintendent Dr. Rich Dear during a special meeting on December 2, 2022, at Legacy Elementary School.

The board gathered to conduct an evaluation of the superintendent and then were unanimous in extending Dear’s contract with a new five-year term ending in June 2028.

“Dr. Dear has been with this district for over 17 years and has been our lead learner for 11 years. He has guided this district through unprecedented growth and many unforeseen challenges we have faced in the last few years,” commented Board President Matt McKittrick.  “The unanimous action taken by the board to extend his contract shows that the board and the community as a whole support the direction of our school district. We are proud to have Dr. Dear and his family as members of our community.”

School trustees will next meet on Monday, Dec. 12.  Board meetings are held at GHS, which is located at 9501 Highway 171.
