The Godley ISD Board of Trustees recognized numerous Godley High School students and teams for outstanding achievements in academics, athletics and career and technical education during the May 18, 2026, board meeting at Godley High School.

Students recognized included UIL academic and speech/debate regional and state qualifiers, FFA state qualifiers, regional qualifying track athletes, state golf teams, and postseason baseball and softball teams.

UIL academic and speech/debate regional and state qualifiers were introduced by sponsors Shonda Christensen and Michelle Gonzalez.

Recognized students included Reagan Brooks, state qualifier in ready writing.Regional UIL academic and speech qualifiers recognized included Naimah Ahumada, Taylor Bain, Kyle Black, Reagan Brooks, Isaac Christensen, Brett Fancher, West Farley, AJ Garcia-Robles, John Gillard, Kori Iglehart, Ava Jackson, Jardiel Jimenez, Emma Lindamood, Trynity Lively, Adam Pempsell, Blake Weeg and Colt Williams.

FFA Leadership Development Event, Career Development Event and Speaking Development Event state qualifiers were introduced by FFA sponsors Lacey Bennett, Millie Sinclair, Katharine Adams and Shelby Brown.

FFA students recognized included Campbell Armstrong, Nola Briscoe, Tucker Clark, Gracie DeFoor, Bradley Fancher, Hayden Flood, Taryn Franks, Lila Heiner, Landry Kamm, Brooke Lynch, Trynity Lively, Dominic Masidonio, Cameryn Meade, Je’Nessa Melgoza, Jade Neyman, Klara Pinkerton, Brandylin Reo, Zane Simmons, Blakely Thompson and Logan Wilson.

Recognized teams included the state qualifying Floriculture, Wildlife, Wool Judging, Livestock Judging, Agricultural Advocacy and Greenhand Agricultural Skills teams. Zane Simmons also advanced to state in Senior Prepared Public Speaking in Technology and Communications, while Klara Pinkerton advanced to the state level in Sheep Production Proficiency.

Godley High School regional qualifying track athletes were introduced by head coaches Keith McFarland and Clay Hopkins.  Track student-athletes recognized included Kennedy Black, Kylie Bower, Brett Fancher, Ava Gallagher, Faith Gboyah, Makayla Jetton, Maddyn Martin, Mallory Mullins and Leighton Murphy.

The board also recognized the Godley Wildcats baseball team, area finalists in the UIL Class 4A Division II playoffs, introduced by head coach Ben Ogle.

Wildcat baseball players recognized included Tabor Anderson, Trystin Cardona, Asher Crane, Grayson Crane, Jaxon Daily, Lathen Hankins, Beckett Hardcastle, Madix Herron, Kinsler Kent, Brison Loera, Gio Molina, Ryder Papasan, Brady Phillips, Talan Roever, Braxton Spohn, Kingston Tompkins and Colton White.

The Ladycat softball team, regional semifinalists in the UIL Class 4A Division II playoffs, was introduced by head coach Rus Mayes.

Ladycat softball players recognized included Emerie Brawner, Brooklyn Branum, Harlee Bullard, Karlee Clark, Kinzlee Durham, Halle Gross, Hayden Keeton, Savannah Ortega, Tatum Peacock, Katie Ponce, Jaydin Riale, Bayleigh Richardson, Bella Salmeron and Alissa Sullivan.

The board additionally recognized both the Wildcat and Ladycat golf teams for qualifying for the UIL Class 4A State Tournament. The teams were introduced by head golf coach Jason Hill and assistant coach Terry Smith

Golf student-athletes recognized included Kyle Black, Britton Everroad, Maddie Fitzgerald, Carmen Galofaro, Ryleigh Hillis, Jaxon Hill, Tripp Karnes, Austin Merritt, Dylan Mourning and Marleigh Thompson. The Wildcats finished ninth at the UIL Class 4A Boys State Tournament, while the Ladycats qualified for state after a third-place finish at the Region II-4A Tournament.

Trustees congratulated the students, coaches and sponsors for representing Godley ISD through academic excellence, leadership and competitive success throughout the 2025-2026 school year.
