The Godley ISD Board of Trustees designated February as Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, reaffirming the district’s commitment to preparing students for college, career and life, during the school board meeting on February 18, 2026.

The resolution highlights the vital role CTE plays in helping students gain academic, technical and employability skills necessary for true career readiness. Through hands-on, real-world learning experiences, students participate in authentic projects that increase engagement, achievement and career awareness at an early age.

In 2024, the district celebrated the opening of The WILD, the four-story Career and Technical Education center at Godley High School. The innovative facility features more than 40 classrooms, labs, collaborative learning spaces and student-led enterprises that bring learning to life.

Godley High School currently offers courses in nine of the 14 career clusters adopted by the Texas Education Agency:

• Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources
• Arts, AV Technology & Communications
• Business, Marketing & Finance
• Education & Training
• Health Science
• Human Services
• Information Technology
• Transportation, Distribution & Logistics

Within these clusters, students pursue programs of study that often include industry certifications, internships and capstone experiences. Student organizations such as Godley FFA, Godley Squadron (drone), HOSA–Future Health Professionals, Robotics Team, TAFE (Texas Association of Future Educators) and Wildcat Media further enhance leadership development and career preparation.

Student-run enterprises including Shop The WILD, Wild Blooms and iLEAD provide real-world business experience while serving the district and community.

District leaders continue to emphasize the importance of partnerships with local business and industry professionals who serve as mentors, guest speakers, subject matter experts and mock interviewers. These connections help bridge classroom learning with workforce expectations and support the continued growth of the Godley community.

Looking ahead, Godley ISD plans continued development of age-appropriate CTE opportunities at the elementary and middle school levels, along with expanded certifications, internships and student-led enterprises designed to prepare the next generation of highly skilled professionals.
