Godley ISD school board trustees honored teachers of the year and several student groups during its monthly meeting on April 24, 2023, at Pleasant View Elementary School.

Bethany Van Wart (Legacy Elementary School, not pictured) and Lori Lummus (Godley High School) were honored as Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year.

Other campus Teachers of the Year recognized were:  Hannah Chastang, R.B. Godley Elementary School; Astrid Jones, Godley Middle School; Jess Mosier, Pleasant View Elementary School; Andrea Wood, Godley 6th Grade Campus.

GHS students honored were:

GHS students competing at Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) state competition:  Ashtin Anglin, Averi Askew, Carly Burndock, Zaida Diaz, Olivia Henderson, Abbigail Phelps, Brianna Rascon, Trinity Roden, Allison Stinson, Carsyn Wheeler, Catherine Whitfield introduced by FACE sponsor Dana Burke

GHS students medaling at High School Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) regional competition:  Oscar Castro, Jaylyn Hix, Heather Jordan, Trinity Lively, Kiera Munguia, Ellie Navarro, Gisselle Pantoja, Brooklyn Royal, Marley Samuels and Jesley Wilson introduced by GHS art teacher Laura Lebeau

GHS students earning honors at UIL one act play competition:   Brooklyn Day Noah Knepper, Lilliana Martin, Hannah Smith and Kathryn Tucker introduced by GHS theater teacher Christine DuBose
