Godley ISD school board trustees recognized teachers and paraprofessionals of the year and several student athletes during its monthly meeting on April 21, 2025, at Godley High School.
Lacey Long from Legacy Elementary School and Lindsay Simmons from Godley High School were honored as Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year.
Other campus Teachers of the Year recognized were: Rebecca Dooley, Godley Middle School; Amy Langham, Godley 6th Grade Campus; Jane O’Connor, Pleasant View Elementary School; Kelly Ramirez, R.B. Godley Elementary School.
Campus Paraprofessionals of the Years honored were: Aubrie Boester, Godley High School; Kristi Bullard, R.B. Godley Elementary School; Mindy Hodges, Godley 6th Grade Campus; Dianne McPherson and Rosie Strode, Pleasant View Elementary School; Beverly Walker, Godley Middle School; Jennifer Workman, Legacy Elementary School.
School board trustees also celebrated the regional finalist Ladycat soccer team, which advanced to the fourth round of the Class 4A Division II playoffs for the first time in school history. The varsity squad included Nola Briscoe, Cassie Capps, Morgan Cummings, Michaela Davis, Ryleigh Dollins, Kaylie Fabela, Stephanie Favela, Jordyn Geesaman, Griffin Gill, Rylie Graves, Sophia Hodges, Eden Kelly, Arynn Long, Gracelyn McMullen, Julyssa Ortiz, Rylee Swanson, Lexi Tyler and Kyla Williams. The team was introduced by head coach Kasie Welborn, who was joined by assistant coach Alice Brooks.
Also honored but unable to attend was GHS senior Cristian Pallares, a state powerlifting qualifier. Head coach Paul Munshower heaped praise on Pallares for his work ethic and efforts that helped him reach the state meet.
