Godley ISD school board trustees recognized R.B. Godley Elementary School and Godley High School students during its monthly meeting on March 17, 2025, at GHS.

R.B. Godley fifth grader Noah Artzt recently placed second in the Area 24 Spelling Bee among ten contestants from Johnson County schools.  He won the district spelling bee for the second year in a row.  Artzt was presented by Principal Jodie Dickson.

Texas Association of Future Educators members who recently competed at the state level were introduced by sponsor Dana Burke.  They are Janice Aguilar, Yulissa Arteaga, Caleb Auzenne, Kytzia Cortez, Gianna Demetres, Zaida Diaz, Aaliyah Flores, Emily Holton, Lucy Payne, Aitana Piqueras and Zegan Roammell.  Two - Auzenne and Cortez - earned spots in the national competition to be held in June in Orlando, Florida.

Varsity cheerleaders were recognized for both the UIL State Spirit Championships, making the finals and finishing 19th among 61 schools competing in Class 4A Division II, and the NCA High School Nationals, earning 12th place in the Game Day Varsity Medium division after advancing from the North Texas regional contest.  The 2024-25 cheer squad is led by captains Peyton Bower and Marleigh Thompson  Members are Kennedy Black, Harlee Brown, Makenzie Crawford, Britton Everroad, Brooke Gallagher, Cali Harrington, Taylour Lewis, Kenadie Martin, Katie Ponce, Raelyn Revland, Maddilynne Schlick, Ava Siddall, Abbie Smith, Paola Valenzuela and Sady Williams.  The GHS girls were introduced by sponsors Amanda Musselman and Dana Burke.

Honored was the Ladycat basketball team, which reached the Class 4A Division II regional finals in the 2024-25 postseason.  Team members are Nola Briscoe, Kase Grimsley, Lila Heiner, Presley Hindash, Bree Hubbard, Sadey Hughey, Kinlee Smith and Ava Wilson along with managers Abby Hughey, Abbie Smith and Marleigh Thompson.  They were introduced by GHS head coach Mark Chauveaux.

Also recognized was GHS state swimmer Ryan McFarland, who was unable to attend.
