Godley ISD school board trustees honored Legacy Elementary School and Godley FFA students at the regular meeting on August 28, 2023, at Godley High School.

Leading the pledges to the United States and Texas flags were Legacy students Blake Mourning, Cameron Soza and Embry Soza.  The group was introduced by Principal Ammie Hill.

Six FFA students who received Lone Star Degrees at this summer’s state convention were presented by GHS agriculture teacher Lacey Bennett. Honored were Payton DeFoor, Owen Dickson, Alex Duran, Veronica Duran, Abbey Mathis and Wylie Simpson.

The highest degree the state association can bestow upon a member, the Lone Star FFA Degree is designed to recognize students who have developed an outstanding supervised agricultural experience program throughout their FFA career. The Lone Star Degree should be the ultimate goal of all FFA members.
