
Godley ISD school board trustees honored the Ladycat cross country and volleyball teams during its monthly meeting on December 15, 2025, at Godley High School.
Ladycat head coach Keith McFarland introduced the Godley High School girls cross country team, which advanced to the state meet after placing fourth among 22 teams at the Region II-4A competition. Senior Makayla Jetton led the Ladycats with a second-place individual finish, earning a silver medal.
Team members also included Dillan Akridge, Kennedy Black, Sophia Hodges, Madison Leonhardt, Emma Lindamood, Leighton Murphy and Julyssa Ortiz.

The Ladycat volleyball team, introduced by head coach Erin Johnson, was also honored following a standout season that included a perfect 12-0 district record and a district championship. The Ladycats defeated Dallas Pinkston in the bi-district round of the playoffs before their postseason run ended against Frisco Panther Creek in the area round.
Varsity team members recognized were Bailey Block, Harlee Boulard, Peyton Bower, Calleigh Brewer, Nola Briscoe, Brylie Chapa, Kase Grimsley, Kenadie Gonzalez, Lila Heiner, Abbigail Lee, Bryce Reed, Alissa Sullivan, Bella Van Wart, Payton Wilcox and Sady Williams.
Family members, coaches and district staff joined the teams in the audience for the recognition.
