Godley ISD school board trustees honored the Godley High School baseball team during its monthly meeting on June 19, 2023, at Pleasant View Elementary School.

As district champion for the third straight year, Godley stomped Fort Worth Western Hills in back-to-back playoff games (10-0 and 20-0) to win the bi-district championship on May 5. During the area round, the GHS boys fell to the Aubrey Chaparrals 8-7 and 2-0 in the best-of-three series on May 12-13. 

Coach Brent Lewis introduced attending players including several from the District 10-4A lineup:

• Most Valuable Player:  Kole Allen

• Newcomer of the Year:  Jason Carrell

• 1st Team:  Tate Grimsley, Byron McClure, Lucas Ponce, Owen Roever, Chris Sinku, Jaydon Spurlock

• 2nd Team:  Crosby Carmichael, Ethan Davies

Other academic, athletic, career and technical and fine arts groups were honored earlier in the school year.
