Vicki Rhoades and Evan Johnson are joining Godley ISD as assistant principals beginning in the 2024-25 school year. The school district made the announcement on July 15, 2024.
New to Legacy Elementary School, Rhoades has been at Marti Elementary School in Cleburne since 2010. She taught kindergarten for eight years and then moved to third grade for two years. Rhoades was most recently the campus assistant principal, serving since 2020. She was the campus teacher of the year for the 2011-12 school year and was named the district’s top elementary teacher for the 2019-20 school year.
Rhoades holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Texas Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Texas at Tyler.
Johnson comes to Godley High School from the STEAM Middle School in Burleson, where he taught drones, robotics and technology as well as principles of engineering. He previously was lead STEAM teacher at the district’s Game Development Design School.
Beginning his educational career in 2015 at a private school in Austin, Johnson taught science and math to middle school students while also coaching varsity and middle school soccer. He then spent three years as a youth minister in Fort Worth. Johnson went on to teach math at William James Middle School in Fort Worth before joining the Burleson school district.
Johnson earned a Bachelor of Arts in education from Harding University and a master's degree in educational administration from Texas A&M International University.
