Twelve Godley Ladycats received District 6-4A soccer honors following the 2024-25 season, which saw the Godley High School girls reach the regional finals in the Class 4A Division II soccer playoffs, marking the GHS girls’ first postseason run in team history and notching three-straight shutout victories.

Arynn Long, a freshman, and Morgan Cummings, a senior, were the offensive and defensive most valuable players of the year respectively, while freshman Gracelynn McMullen was the co-defensive newcomer of the year.

Others named to the district squad were:

• 1st Team:  Morgan Cummings, Stephanie Favela, Rylie Graves, Sophia Hodges, Arynn Long, Gracelynn McMullen, Lexi Tyler
• 2nd Team:  Kaylie Fabela, Jordyn Geesaman
• Honorable Mention:  Cassie Capps, Griffin Gill, Eden Kelly

The Ladycats, runners-up in District 6, the GHS girls posted a 7-3 record to make the playoffs. This marked the team’s fourth postseason appearance since starting the soccer program in 2021.

In the bi-district contest, the Ladycats notched their first-ever postseason victory with a 7-0 over the Gatesville Lady Hornets on Mar. 21. They followed up with beating Castleberry Lady Lions 3-0 in the area round on Mar. 25.  Then, the GHS girls posted a third-straight shutout with a 2-0 win over Lubbock-Cooper Liberty on Mar. 28 in the regional semifinal showdown. Advancing to the fourth round of the playoffs, Godley fell to Canyon Randall - a current state finalist - 1-0 in a hard-fought regional final matchup on Mar. 31.
