R.B. Godley Elementary School was in the spotlight at the Godley ISD school board meeting on April 22, 2024, at Godley High School.
Principal Jodie Dickson highlighted the school’s implementation of the community-based accountability system, which is based upon the hopes and dreams of the Godley community and built around seven important pillars. CBAS is a locally-developed accountability system, measures benefits and effectiveness of GISD schools, highlights district successes and areas for improvement, and incorporates state testing and accountability.
A new “house” system was explained by Angie Molinari, the school counselor. Through the initiative, students and staff are grouped in house across grade levels. Each house represents a character trait, and students work on community service projects each month.
The spotlight also included the school’s Wildcat Ambassadors leading pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags to begin the meeting. Also featured was the school choir, which performed a song for trustees and attendees.
