Noah Artzt, a fourth grader at R.B. Godley Elementary School, won the Godley ISD district spelling bee on January 26, 2024, at Pleasant View Elementary School.

Artzt and Legacy Elementary School fifth grader Navin Riemondi battled before Artzt emerged the victor with Reimondi as the runner-up.  This marks the second year in row for Riemondi to serve as the runner-up.

The district contest featured top winners from the three elementary campuses.  Other students competing were:

• Legacy: Keegan Bailey, Tucker Darnaby, Harland Heath, Hadley Jabri, Dax Wall

• Pleasant View:  Kaycee Burdett, Chloe Gonzales, Leighton Harper, Cole Jeune, Tanner Muzzey, George Spears

• R.B. Godley:  Jonathan Castillo, Avery McGavock, Kyran Shaw, Olivia Wilson

Artzt advances to the Area 24 competition on Feb. 9 featuring winners from Johnson County schools.
