Godley Independent School District - Empowering Students

Logo Title

R.B. Godley Elementary School was in the spotlight at the Godley ISD school board meeting on February 17, 2025, at Godley High School.

Principal Jodie Dickson reported current enrollment of around 560 students in grades PK-5.  She reviewed numbers for special populations with campus staff providing additional instructional support for these students.

She discussed the school’s implementation of the community-based accountability system, which is based upon the hopes and dreams of the Godley community and built around seven important pillars.  CBAS is a locally-developed accountability system, measures benefits and effectiveness of GISD schools, highlights district successes and areas for improvement, and incorporates state testing and accountability.

New happenings at the elementary campus include a growing honor choir as well as new clubs for yearbook and theatre.  The school continues to use the house system to build campus culture and also utilizes enrichment clubs and a student ambassador program.

Campus academic goals center on 90% of students meeting expected growth in literacy and numeracy, increasing academic rigor, and increasing student growth and performance on state standardized tests for both regular education and special education students.
