R.B. Godley Elementary School showcased its student leaders and teachers’ intentional collaboration, data-driven instruction and proactive student support systems at the Godley ISD Board of Trustees meeting on February 18, 2026, at Godley High School.

Principal Jaclyn Trussell highlighted the campus’ focus on resilience, collaboration and student growth under the theme, “Building Stronger, Together.”

Trussell framed the presentation through the district’s Community-Based Accountability System (CBAS), a locally developed framework rooted in the hopes and aspirations of the Godley community and organized around seven key pillars. CBAS evaluates the effectiveness of Godley ISD schools, celebrates areas of success, identifies opportunities for growth and incorporates state testing and accountability measures as part of a comprehensive view of performance.

A key driver of student success at R.B. Godley Elementary is strong teacher collaboration across grade levels. Educators work together to strengthen lesson design, share instructional strategies and problem-solve to meet diverse student needs. This collaborative structure ensures multiple perspectives inform planning and instruction, reinforcing high expectations for all learners while supporting professional growth among staff.

Campus leaders emphasized the intentional use of data to guide instruction and interventions. By analyzing beginning-of-year and midyear performance data, teachers have documented significant student growth across grade levels. Weekly “Friday Quick Checks” provide timely feedback on student understanding, allowing teachers to identify learning gaps and adjust instruction before misconceptions take root. This systematic approach supports measurable academic progress and reinforces the district’s commitment to continuous improvement.

Assistant Principal Jennifer Jenkins shared the campus’ proactive approach to student behavior and social-emotional growth. Through daily check-ins, students who need additional support set individualized goals, participate in regular progress monitoring and earn incentives for positive choices. These plans are differentiated to meet individual needs and involve close collaboration among students, parents, teachers and administrators. The consistent, relationship-centered structure promotes accountability, encouragement and student well-being.

The presentation also recognized the campus’ Wildcat Ambassadors, student leaders who assist with campus activities and serve as positive role models. Their leadership highlights the importance of student voice and involvement in shaping campus culture.
