Pleasant View Elementary School was in the spotlight at the Godley ISD school board meeting on May 20, 2024, at Godley High School.

Dr. Melissa Block, the campus principal, highlighted the school’s implementation of the community-based accountability system, which is based upon the hopes and dreams of the Godley community and built around seven important pillars.  CBAS is a locally-developed accountability system, measures benefits and effectiveness of GISD schools, highlights district successes and areas for improvement, and incorporates state testing and accountability.

In particular, Block outlined end-of-year data that indicated significant growth among Pleasant View students in reading, math and science.  She also highlighted that students completed almost 54,000 minutes of reading, and she discussed the growing readiness among pre-kindergarten students.

The spotlight also included the school’s Wildcat Ambassadors leading pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags to begin the meeting.
