Pleasant View Elementary showcased its student leaders, growing community engagement and innovative academic programs at the Godley ISD Board of Trustees meeting on November 17, 2025, at Godley High School.
Principal Tracey Green framed the campus spotlight through the Community-Based Accountability System (CBAS), which is based on the hopes and dreams of the Godley community and built around seven key pillars. CBAS is a locally developed accountability system that measures the benefits and effectiveness of GISD schools, highlights district successes and areas for improvement, and incorporates state testing and accountability.
Green introduced the Wildcat Ambassadors, a student leadership group that represents the campus at schoolwide events. The ambassadors opened the presentation by leading the pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags and demonstrating the daily Wildcat Chant. Students serving as ambassadors are Lily Beck, Graydon Berry, Miranda Diaz, Michelle Gonzalez, Stellen Jenkins, Ximena Leos, Jurnee Perez, Annalise Rangel, Gentry Skinner and Brooklynn Summarell. Counselor Mistie Havlak sponsors the group.
Also highlighted were third graders, who delivered an encore of their Veterans Day program, “This Is America!” The original performance drew a full house and concluded with a reception honoring veterans and their families.
Green shared several additional highlights from the fall semester:
- Math Dash Initiative — As part of efforts to close academic gaps, particularly in reading and math, the school launched a campuswide math fact competition for grades 1-5. Students “level up” as they master math facts, and those who advance through five levels earn recognition and a spirit stick.
- Growing PTO Engagement — PTO membership has surged from 135 in 2024-25 to 285 members this year. The organization has strengthened staff appreciation efforts, supported classroom activities and coordinated volunteers for fall learning events.
- Attendance Incentives — To encourage strong attendance, classrooms with perfect daily attendance are entered into a drawing to host Fred or Tony the T-Rex, two popular classroom mascots. Grade levels can also earn post-lunch incentives. Attendance rates have ranged from 95 to 96 percent this semester.
Green closed the presentation by thanking trustees and the community for their continued support of students, staff and campus initiatives.
