Alexandra Rizzo is a new school resource officer with the Godley ISD Police Department.
Based at R.B. Godley Elementary School, Rizzo serves all GISD campuses under the leadership of Chief Matt Quinteros.
Rizzo has over ten years of experience in law enforcement, having begun in 2009 as an intern in the Brevard County medical examiner’s office in Florida. She later worked as a forensic technician in the Hillsborough County medical examiner’s office before serving as a crime scene investigator and certified specialist for the Kissimmee Police Department.
In 2016, Rizzo was one of three females selected for the first-ever academy sponsored by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, where she later served as a deputy sheriff and began pursuing her passion to become a school resource officer.
Moving to Texas in 2020, Rizzo continued her law enforcement career as an officer for police departments serving Burleson, University of North Texas and Godley. “It was during this time that Alex honed her skills working patrol and conducting investigations as well as engaging in community-oriented policing all while continuing her education and training,” Quinteros commented.
Rizzo earned an Advanced Peace Officer Certificate and will soon be awarded a Master Peace Officer Certificate.
