Godley Middle School cheerleaders attended NCA Cheer Camp on the campus of Tarleton State University in Stephenville during Summer 2023.

The team learned cheers, chants, pyramids and dances, according to cheer sponsors Katy Baxter and Shaina Clayton.

Throughout the duration of camp, cheerleaders and mascots were eligible to be nominated for All-American Team tryouts. Among the seven GMS cheer squad members and mascot selected, seventh graders Emmalee Adams and Sonnet Grier (Wiggles the mascot) joined the All-American Team.

The GMS cheer team includes:

• 8th Grade:  Rylie Bax, Kennedy Black, Harlee Brown, Cali Harrington, Gracelyn McMullen, Hinley Owen, Abbie Smith

• 7th Grade:  Emmalee Adams, Sonnet Grier (mascot), Leighton Murphy, Saylor Pahanish
