Godley Independent School District - Empowering Students

Logo Title

Legacy Elementary School fourth and fifth graders are among Godley ISD students diving into science labs.

In fifth grade science labs led by teacher Lindsey Davis, students constructed make-shift half-pipes to record data regarding the motion of ping pong balls.  Following several initial trials, students experimented with the height of their half-pipe to study changes.

Meanwhile, fourth graders in classes taught by Denise Casey learned about force with an experiment with estimating items launched.  With observations, students also analyzed how changes could impact their “hoppers.”

With engaging lessons, elementary students have plenty of hands-on opportunities. Updated science curriculum gives teachers more possibilities to conduct experiments and demonstrations as they strive to base learning around the experience or "phenomenon" of science.
