Legacy Elementary School showcased a strong culture of student engagement, collaborative teaching and a commitment to developing the whole child during the Godley ISD Board of Trustees meeting on March 16, 2026, at Godley High School.
Principal Tom Frazier framed the video presentation through the district’s Community-Based Accountability System (CBAS), a locally developed framework rooted in the hopes and aspirations of the Godley community and organized around seven key pillars. CBAS evaluates the effectiveness of Godley ISD schools, celebrates areas of success, identifies opportunities for growth, and incorporates state testing and accountability measures as part of a comprehensive view of performance.
Throughout the campus, students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences that emphasize both academic growth and character development. Classrooms reflect a focus on foundational skills, problem-solving, and student ownership of learning, with teachers creating environments where students are encouraged to think critically, communicate effectively, and take pride in their work. This approach aligns with the district’s mission to inspire, empower and challenge all learners to lead, grow and serve.
The spotlight also highlighted the strong relationships between students and staff that contribute to a positive and supportive campus culture. Teachers work collaboratively to meet individual student needs, using data-driven practices and intentional planning to ensure all learners are supported. Students demonstrated leadership, confidence and enthusiasm throughout the campus, reflecting a shared commitment to excellence.
In addition to academics, Legacy Elementary emphasizes a well-rounded educational experience. Opportunities for student leadership, campus involvement and community connection help foster a sense of belonging and pride among students. This focus supports the district’s broader goals of developing engaged, well-rounded students who are prepared for future success.
The presentation also showcased the campus’s Wildcat Ambassadors, a group of student leaders who assist with campus activities and model positive behavior for their peers. Their contributions reflect the importance of student voice and active participation in shaping campus culture.
