The Godley Ladycats swept the first half of District 10-4A volleyball play with a victory over Waxahachie Life on September 29, 2023.

GHS girls posted victories over all district foes to earn a 6-0 record:  Alvarado (25-14, 25-14, 25-19) on Sept. 8, Ferris (25-13, 24-26, 25-12, 25-19) on Sept. 12, Kennedale (25-11, 25-9, 25-18) on Sept. 15, Hillsboro (25-12, 25-7, 25-8) on Sept. 22, Venus (25-7, 25-4, 25-12) on Sept. 26 and Waxahachie Life (25-14, 25-14, 26-24) on Sept. 29.

The varsity squad includes Ashtin Anglin, Kytzia Cortez, Michaela Davis, Ahmari Govea, Bree Hubbard, Catrina Leverett, Baylee Mobley, Logan Reed, Trinity Roden, Brynn Staton, Bella Van Wart and Kyla Williams.  Head coach Courtney Hammett is assisted by Ashley Blue and Skylar Warrick as well as managers Michaela Davis and Samantha Young.

Second-half action begins on Tuesday, Oct. 3 with the Ladycats hosting Alvarado for Senior Night.  Other games are scheduled vs. Ferris on Oct. 6, at Kennedale on Oct. 10, at Hillsboro on Oct. 17, vs. Venus on Oct. 20 for Homecoming and concluding district play at Waxahachie Life on Oct. 24.
