
The Godley Ladycats struck gold at the Granbury Race for the Loot on September 26, 2025, at the Granbury Disc Golf Course.
Ladycats placed first among 10 teams in the Class 4A division in the 3200-meter run with 126 contestants.
Leading the Ladycats were six medalists: Makayla Jetton (12:44.21), fourth; Dillan Akridge (13:37.80), eighth; Kennedy Black (13:53.62), ninth; Sophia Hodges (13:53.98), 10th; Emma Lindamood (14:33.33), 12th; Madison Leonhardt (14:52.10), 15th.
Also running were Julyssa Ortiz, Kinley Simmons, Presley Hindash, Caylee Price, Elissa Brown, Mackenzie Hayes, Braely Lee, Layla Balderas, Alison Zamarripa, Cali Harrington, Daisy Maldonado, Kaylie Fabela, Lilliana Olade and Naomi Reyes.
The GHS boys were third in the 10-team 5k contest featuring 176 runners. Leading the Wildcats were: Cy Tennery (17:22.89), fourth; Jaxon Hill (17:59.56), sixth; Landon Bell (18:09.83), 11th. Others competing were Camden Riney, Brayden Brantley, Aharon Green, Dylan Mourning, Kevin Maldonado, Acey Hawkins, Cameron Rosser, Victor Arvizu, Sean Warren, Adidlas Kazouh, Zion Johnson, Brody Rogers and Keaton Wortham.
Godley girls cross country coaches are Keith McFarland and Jason Hill.
Next up for the teams is the District 12-4A contest on Monday, Oct. 6 at Godley High School’s The WILD.
