Godley Ladycats overcame the Van Alstyne Lady Panthers for an area victory in the Class 4A Division II volleyball playoffs on November 7, 2024, at Ranchview High School in Irving.

The Ladycats and Van Alstyne battled through five games (24-26, 25-21, 17-25, 26-24, 15-5), with Godley emerging victorious to claim the area crown to advancing to the regional semifinals to face Pleasant Grove at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Sulphur Springs High School.

The GHS girls previously defeated Dallas Pinkston in three-straight matches (25-7, 25-12, 25-2) during the bi-district round. The varsity Ladycats completed a full sweep of District 12-4A volleyball play, posting a perfect 12-0 record to advance to the postseason.

Team members are Peyton Bower, Calleigh Brewer, Nola Briscoe, Kytzia Cortez, Kenadie Gonzalez, Kase Grimsley, Lila Heiner, Bree Hubbard, Abbi Lee, Alissa Sullivan, Bella Van Wart, Baillee Wallis, Payton Wilcox and Kyla Williams.
