Eleven Godley Ladycats received District 10-4A honors following the 2023 season, which saw the Godley High School girls advance to the area championship after sweeping all district foes throughout the regular season.

Baylee Mobley was named most valuable player, posting 202 kills, 101 digs and 20 aces.  Offensive most valuable player Logan Reed scored 102 kills, while co-setter of the year Brynn Staton earned 255 assists, 76 digs and 28 aces.  Ahmari Govea, the co-newcomer of the year, posted 156 assists, 57 digs and 9 aces.

Others named to the district squad were:

  • 1st Team:  Ashtin Anglin, Bree Hubbard, Bella Van Wart

  • 2nd Team:  Catrina Leverett, Trinity Roden

  • Honorable Mention:  Kytzia Cortez, Kyla Williams

In addition, Ladycat head coach Courtney Hammett was named Coach of the Year.

Last year, Hubbard was the district’s top newcomer.  Mobley, Reed and Staton were first-team picks, while Anglin and Roden were on the second-team list.  Van Wart was an honorable mention choice.

Ten players receiving academic all-district recognition were Ashtin Anglin, Ahmari Govea, Bree Hubbard, Catrina Leverett, Baylee Mobley, Logan Reed, Trinity Roden, Brynn Staton, Bella Van Wart and Kyla Williams.

The varsity Ladycats completed a full sweep of district volleyball play, posting a perfect 12-0 record.  The district champions beat Fort Worth Eastern Hills in the bi-district round before falling to Aubrey at the area level.
