Nine Godley Ladycats received District 10-4A honors following the 2023-24 season, which saw the Godley High School girls advance to the area playoffs.

Senior Logan Reed was named the district’s most valuable player, after earning offensive MVP honors last year.

Bree Hubbard, a junior, is the co-offensive most valuable player.  She was a first-team pick last season.

Others named to the all-district squad were:

  • 1st Team:  Alyssa Jimenez, Kinlee Smith, Reese Tennery

  • 2nd Team:  Trinity Roden

  • Honorable Mention:  Lexi Abbott, Payton DeFoor

Last year, Jimenez and Smith were on the first team, while Roden and Tennery were second-team choices.

In addition, Ladycat head coach Mark Chauveux was again named Coach of the Year.

Receiving district academic recognition were Lexi Abbott, Payton DeFoor, Bree Hubbard, Logan Reed, Trinity Roden, Kinlee Smith, Reese Tennery and Ava Wilson.

The Godley girls posted a perfect 12-0 district record, sweeping all district foes through both rounds of play to earn the team’s second district title in a row.  The Ladycats defeated Fort Worth Western Hills 71-17 in the bi-district round on Feb. 12 before falling to Frisco Panther Creek 45-43 in the area championship on Feb. 16.

In addition to Goldey, the athletic district includes Alvarado, Ferris, Hillsboro, Kennedale, Venus and Waxahachie Life.
