Twelve Godley Ladycats received District 10-4A honors following the 2022-23 softball season.
Cadence Chambliess, a junior, is the district’s most valuable player, while sophomore Samantha Andersen was selected as utility player of the year. Head coach Rus Mayes shared coach of the year honors.

As the District 10-4A champion following the regular season, the Ladycats first defeated Fort Worth Dunbar, the fourth-place team from District 9, by a whopping 21-0 after five innings in a single-game bi-district matchup on April 29. Godley then beat Celina in a best-of-three series in the area round on May 4-5; the girls bounced back after a 13-1 opening loss to win 10-4 and 9-8 to capture the victory. The GHS girls fell to Van Alstyne 11-4 and 8-3 in the regional quarterfinal on May 11 and 12.
In addition to Godley, the athletic district includes Alvarado, Hillsboro, Kennedale, Venus and Waxahachie Life.
