The Godley Ladycats dominated at the District 12-4A cross country meet on October 6, 2025, at The WILD.

The Ladycats placed first in the district contest featuring runners from Alvarado, Ferris, Hillsboro, Kennedale, Venus and Waxahachie Life. The Region II-4A meet is set for Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the Harold Patterson Sports Complex on the campus of the University of Texas at Arlington.

Leading the GHS girls were four medalists: Makayla Jetton (13:18.29), second; Natalia Sanchez (13:26.40), third; Dillan Akridge (13:39.03), ninth; and Sophia Hodges (14:01.33), 10th. Other varsity girls were Kennedy Black, Emma Lindamood and Madison Leonhardt.

The JV girls also placed first, with Julyssa Ortiz (15:34.41) the overall individual champion. Also placing were Presley Hindash (15:41.11), second; Kinley Simmons (16:04.62), sixth; Caylee Price (16:08.75), ninth; and Braely Lee (16:27.82), 10th. The team also included Allison Zamarripa, Mackenzie Hayes, Elissa Brown, Layla Balderas, Daisy Maldonado, Eden Kelly, Lilliana Olade and Naomi Reyes.

The GHS boys placed third in the varsity contest. Leading the Wildcats were medalists Cy Tennery (17:57.15), seventh, and Landon Bell (18:13.60), 10th, who both advanced individually to regionals. Others competing were Brayden Brantley, Jaxon Hill, Camden Riney, Aharon Green and Dylan Mourning.

In the junior varsity division, the Wildcats placed third, with Victor Arvizu (20:57.05), sixth, leading the squad. Others running were Noah Demetres, Sean Warren, Kevin Maldonado, Adidlas Kazouh, Brody Rogers and Keaton Wortham.
