The Godley Ladycats completed a full sweep of District 12-4A volleyball play with a victory over Waxahachie Life on October 29, 2024.

During the first half of district play, GHS girls posted victories over all district foes to earn a 6-0 record:  Hillsboro (25-12, 25-17, 25-19) on Sept. 13, Venus (25-11, 25-8, 25-15) on Sept. 17, Alvarado (25-23, 22-25, 25-10, 25-16) on Sept. 20, Kennedale (21-25, 25-12, 25-14, 25-16) on Sept. 24, Ferris (25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 25-16) on Oct. 1, and Waxahachie Life (28-26, 25-15, 25-8) on Oct. 4.

Second half scores show the Godley varsity winning over Hillsboro (25-5, 25-10, 25-13) on Oct. 8, Venus (25-10, 25-15, 25-8) on Oct. 11, Alvarado (25-12, 25-15, 22-25, 25-7) on Oct. 15, Kennedale (22-25, 25-12, 25-16, 25-19) on Oct. 18, Ferris on Oct. 25 and Waxahachie Life (25-16, 23-25, 25-18, 25-23) on Oct. 29.

The Ladycats will face Dallas Pinkston in the bi-district playoffs on Tuesday, Nov. 5.  The game will start at 7:30 p.m. at Arlington Bowie High School.

Junior varsity and freshman Ladycats also were district champions, with the ninth-grade squad having an undefeated season.

The varsity squad includes Peyton Bower, Calleigh Brewer, Nola Briscoe, Kytzia Cortez, Kenadie Gonzalez, Kase Grimsley, Lila Heiner, Bree Hubbard, Abbi Lee, Alissa Sullivan, Bella Van Wart, Baillee Wallis, Payton Wilcox and Kyla Williams.  

JV team members are Bailey Block, Hayden Keeton, Maddyn Martin, Katie Ponce, Jaydin Riale, Rylie Robertson, Raelyn Revland, Laina Reynolds, Ralynn Roteman, Bella Salmeron and Kylie Smith.

Freshman players are Dillan Akridge, Layla Balderas, Harlee Brown, Brylie Chapa, Mac DeFoor, Makenzie Hillis, Aleiannah Mendez, Hinley Owen, Abbie Smith, Hadlee Taylor and Kerighan Wilson.

Head coach Craig Darder is assisted by Ashley Blue and Skyler Warrick as well as managers Michaela Davis and Sam Young.
