Godley Ladycats defeated Fort Worth Carter-Riverside 21-0 and 16-0 in Class 4A softball bi-district playoffs on April 25-26, 2024.

As the District 10-4A champion, the Ladycats faced off against Carter-Riverside, the fourth-place team from District 9, in the best-of-three series.

The GHS girls will next square off against Frisco Panther Creek, the District 11 runner-up who defeated Pinkston 27-0 in a single-game matchup for the bi-district round.  The area contest will be a best-of-three series beginning with Game 1 on Thursday, May 2 at 6 p.m. and Games 2 and 3 on Friday, May 3 at 6 p.m.  All games will be at Richland High School in North Richland Hills.

Godley compiled a perfect 10-0 district record leading up to the postseason, earning a third consecutive district championship. During the first half, the Ladycats bested Alvarado 15-0 on Mar. 19, Hillsboro 12-2 on Mar. 22, Kennedale 13-2 on Mar. 26, Waxahachie Life 15-0 on Mar. 28, and Venus 18-8 on Apr. 2. Scores during the second half of district action show the Godley varsity winning over Alvarado 15-0 on Apr. 6, Hillsboro 11-1 on Apr. 10, Kennedale 19-1 on Apr. 12, Waxahachie Life 19-0 on Apr. 16, and Venus 17-0 on Apr. 19.

The varsity squad includes Samantha Andersen, Jordan Blakely, Harlee Bullard, Alyssa Castillo, Cadence Chambliess, Karlee Clark, Halle Gross, Saniya Hill, Bree Hubbard, Hayden Keeton, Alyson Meade, Alissa Sullivan, Bailee Wallis and Dakota Watson.

Head coach Rus Mayes is assisted by Kristi Mayes as well as athletic trainer Duke Graham. Team managers are Marissa Bethel, Saleece Hill and Ava Siddall.
